    The State of Louisiana's minimum requirements for High School Graduation

    * Units of Credit Course(s) 4.0 English
    * 3.0 Mathematics
    * 3.0 Science
    * 3.0 Social Studies
    * 1.5 Physical Education
    * .5 Health
    * 8.0 Elective Courses
    * 23 TOTAL


    All high schools shall provide students the opportunity to complete an area of concentration with an academic focus and/or career focus. To complete an academic area of concentration, students shall meet the current course requirements for the Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) plus one additional Carnegie unit in mathematics, science or social studies. To complete a career area of concentration, students shall meet the minimum requirements for graduation including four elective primary credits in the area of concentration and two related elective credits, including one computer/technology course.

    Additional credits required for the Tuition Opportunity Program for Students (TOPS) eligibility:

    * Course Requirements English IV
    * Fine Arts (or sub. 2 units of performance courses in music, dance, theatre or visual arts)
    * Foreign Language (2 units in the same language)
    * One additional unit in advanced Math or Science
    Some schools have additional requirements that demand the student’s special attention. For this reason students should consult with their partner school counselor or NOCCA|Riverfront’s Student Services Office for course recommendations.
    * Non-arts Courses

    || NOCCA|Riverfront's Non-Art Classes
    In order to help students complete courses required for graduation, NOCCA|Riverfront offers the following non-arts courses:

    * Courses: Free Enterprise: half-unit of credit offered to upper-level students during their junior or senior year
    * Civics: half-unit of credit offered to upper-level students
    * Health
    * Physical Education I & II


    NOCCA|Riverfront’s non-arts courses exist primarily to help students who are unable to earn these credits at their partner schools due to time constraints or schedule conflicts. Non-arts enrollment priority is reserved for seniors.
