NOCCA|Riverfront’s non-arts courses exist primarily to help students who are unable to earn these credits at their partner schools due to time constraints or schedule conflicts. Non-arts enrollment priority is reserved for seniors.
Directed Study
NOCCA|Riverfront considers students with demonstrated ability to work in a defined interest area for directed study. Similar to monitored independent study, the degree of teacher contact varies with the student’s needs and the opinion and availability of the coordinating teacher. The student’s arts discipline chair and the Office of Student Services arrange and approve directed studies.
Distance Learning
For students who qualify and whose partner schools agree, NOCCA|Riverfront may enroll a limited number of students in the Louisiana Virtual School to earn needed credits otherwise unavailable due to time constraints or schedule conflicts.
