Audition Requirements
The PREP Piano Program at NOCCA trains students in K-3rd grades through twice-weekly lessons in a group setting. Students are expected to practice daily and keep pace with assignments. Parental involvement is required. The students are monitored for progress throughout the year and the continuation in the program is by invitation only. Participation in the Winter and Spring concerts are mandatory for all students enrolled.
Selected advanced students receive individual lessons with Sakiko Ohashi, the Assistant Chair of Music. In addition to the lessons, the selected students also participate in the Theory/Ear Training classes.
PREP Violin Program at NOCCA is a pilot program for grades K-4 for the 2007-08 year. Students participate in a group lesson once a week with the violin instructor, Natalie Van Burkleo. The students without instruments get instruments on loan from NOCCA for the first year.
