BESE President Visits NOCCA
The President of the Louisiana Board of Elementary & Secondary Education Penny Dastugue spent a wonderful day at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) touring arts facilities and visiting NOCCA’s new full-day school Academic Studio. During her visit, Ms. Dastugue took part in a round table discussion with NOCCA faculty, staff and students on the uniqueness of arts and academics curriculum instruction and delivery at the school.
“I have had the privilege to work with Penny Dastugue for many years now and she has provided incredible leadership during some of the most challenging times for the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE),” stated Kyle Wedberg, President|CEO of NOCCA. “ It was a wonderful experience for our students to get to interact with one of the educational leaders of the state and we hope NOCCA left as deep an impression on her as she did on NOCCA.”
