Is Flora a “Red Menace,” or just that good old-fashioned Broadway heroine, a Girl in Love? It’s 1935 in New York City, and though the country may be depressed, nothing can keep Flora down. She just needs to get a job… and help her friends… and, oh! find love! But when her boyfriend turns out to be a communist agitator, can Flora hold it all together and keep her principles intact?
Known as the first Broadway collaboration of John Kander and Fred Ebb (famous for Cabaret, Chicago, and many others) and the show that made Liza Minelli a star, Flora the Red Menace is a romance of charm and simplicity. Direction by guest Ricky Graham, choreography by Heidi Malnar, and music direction by Jefferson Turner.
