Trombone Shorty wins at “Best of The Beat” Awards
Offbeat hosted the Best of the Beat at Generations Hall, and Trombone Shorty walked away with the trophies. He was named Best R&B/Funk Artist and Artist of the Year, and Backatown was voted Best R&B/Funk Album and Album of the Year. Individually, Shorty was also voted Best Trombonist by OffBeat readers, and on Wednesday night’s Business Awards, Backatown producer Ben Ellman was named Producer of the Year.
