The Creative Writing Department of New Orleans Center for Creative Arts invites the public to enjoy an evening of readings by some of the strongest young writers in the region. Students, parents and the public are invited to attend this free event, no RSVP necessary. Students who are interested in the Creative Writing instructional program at NOCCA are also encouraged to attend.
The special limited edition of the 2010 Umbra, the Creative Writing Department’s annual student publication of poetry and short stories, will be unveiled and available for purchase following the reading.
NOCCA, Louisiana’s arts conservatory for high school students, offers students from across the state tuition-free arts instruction in Creative Writing, Dance, Media Arts: Filmmaking & Audio Production, Music, Theatre Arts and Visual Arts.
