Statewide Summer Session
Middle and high school students and their families are encouraged to visit New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA, 2800 Chartres Street, New Orleans-70117) as the Center opens its doors to the community on Saturday, November 5, 10 AM-NOON with an Open Studio Day. This is a great first step for students who are considering applying and auditioning to learn details about NOCCA and NOCCA attendance options. No RSVP is required.
At Open Studio Day, families can see first-hand our artist-teachers’ studios and classrooms. Guests can talk directly with NOCCA faculty and students to learn about NOCCA’s audition process and what it’s like to be a NOCCA student.
Highlights of the Open Studio Day include:
· Arts and Academic Studio Application Release
· Information on the statewide high school Summer Session scheduled for June 2012
· Academic Studio: Full-day attendance option with arts and academics instruction for rising 8th graders from across the region
· Announcement of arts attendance options of ½ day and afterschool instruction in: Creative Writing, Culinary Arts, Dance, Media Arts: Filmmaking & Audio Production, Classical Instrumental Music, Jazz, Vocal, Drama, Musical Theatre, Theatre Design and Visual Arts
