NOCCA Jazz Department Offers Big Band Community Concert

Free Concert Performed By Student-Artists
April 6, 7 PM, Ellis Marsalis Jazz Studio
New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA, 2800 Chartres Street, New Orleans-70117) invites the community to a free concert as the Jazz Department showcases the NOCCA Jazz Big Band on Wednesday, April 6, 7 PM in the Ellis Marsalis Jazz Studio. Under the direction of NOCCA Jazz Artist-Teacher Mike Rihner, the concert will feature the next generation of Louisiana jazz legends performing arrangements of famous jazz tunes by such noted artists as Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington. NOCCA invites the public to enjoy this free concert on its campus located in the Historic Marigny District of New Orleans at the corner of Charters and Press Streets.
