Twenty-One Students Take Part In Coordinated NOCCA Field Trip To Attend The National Unified Auditions Providing College Opportunities
Twenty-one young artists from NOCCA braved the cold and snow as they traveled to Chicago as part of the annual NOCCA Theatre Arts Field Trip to the National Unified Auditions. NOCCA and The NOCCA Institute have supported this incredible opportunity for several years because student-participants are able to audition to the best arts conservatories in the country while staying in one central location. The trip provides many students the only chance they have to travel outside of Louisiana to audition for post-secondary arts training.
Drama, Musical Theatre and Theatre Design students were accepted on the spot to such incredible universities as Rutgers and Marymount Manhattan College. All students were able to benefit from faculty support pre-audition with warm-ups and vocal/diction exercises to help them prepare for the numerous auditions available. Students were excited to see great programs at the University of Cincinnati, Emerson College and The Juilliard School available at the Palmer House Hotel, where the students were staying as part of the Unified Auditions.
