President/CEO Kyle Wedberg stated, “We are proud of these students and well deserved recognition. We are also grateful to the families that support these students and the NOCAA artist faculty members that have helped to provide these students with the training and preparation to compete on a national level.  What these students display is emblematic of what is possible with the right resources and training for students in Louisiana.”

More than 160,000 works are initially submitted to the 76 regional programs each year.  On the regional level, only 693 artworks from the Region-at-Large earned Gold Key recognition this year. The next round of judging takes place in April.

The Alliance collaborates with colleges across the country to leverage an additional $3.25 million in scholarship opportunities for award recipients who demonstrate exceptional promise. National award recipients are celebrated in a ceremony at Carnegie Hall, a national exhibition of selected works and are invited to attend a series of workshops led by professional artists, writers and creative industry leaders in New York City.
