Middle School NOCCA Classical Instrumental Wins First Place At National Piano Competition

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts is proud to announce that 8th grade Audubon Charter School | NOCCA Classical Instrumental Student Jonathan Cole (NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov) received the top award in his level at the annual DeBose National Piano Competition which took place on April 25 in Baton Rouge. Jonathan competed in the Intermediate-Standard Level II B of the Pre-College Solo Division. Jonathan received a trophy for his efforts and plans on continuing his success at NOCCA next year in their classical instrumental program.
The Debose Foundation’s goal is to annually present a Fine Arts Series-Competition which recognizes student achievement with outcomes including provision of support and ancillary resources for creative excellence; motivation for awareness and respect for diversity; and improve the quality of through cultural understanding within the community.
NOCCA offers tuition-free intensive arts training in Creative Writing, Culinary Arts, Dance, Media Arts, Classical Instrumental Music, Jazz, Vocal, Drama, Musical Theatre, Theatre Design and Visual Arts to Louisiana upper-middle and high school students during full-day, ½ day and afterschool attendance options.
