NOCCA Classical Student Wins the MTNA Competition
Junior Piano Level for the State of Louisiana
NOCCA congratulates current Classical Instrumental Student Ben Mader (Louisiana Connections Academy, Metairie-70001) as he was recently selected as the Winner of the Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) Competition for the State of Louisiana in Junior Piano level.
The competition took place on Saturday, October 11 in Ruston, LA at Louisiana Tech University. Because of his award, Ben has been invited to be the state representative for Louisiana in Piano at the Junior level (Age: 11-14) at the South Central Division of the MTNA Competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma in January, 2015. Ben is currently under the piano instruction of NOCCA faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov.
The purposes of the Music Teachers National Association Performance competitions are to provide educational experiences for students and teachers and to recognize exceptionally talented young artists and their teachers in their pursuit of musical excellence.
