NOCCA Middle School Pianist Wins Third Place at National Piano Competition
The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts is proud to announce that NOCCA/Ridgewood Prep 8th grade student Ben Mader received 3rd Place in his level at the DeBose National Piano Competition which took place on April 26 in Baton Rouge. Ben competed in the Intermediate-Standard Level II B of the Pre-College Solo Division.
Ben received a trophy for his efforts and plans on continuing his success at NOCCA next year in their classical instrumental program. He has also received top placements in other competitions earlier this school year such as the LSU Bach Competition and Junior Philharmonic Society of New Orleans.
The Debose Foundation’s goal is to annually present a Fine Arts Series-Competition which recognizes student achievement with outcomes including provision of support and ancillary resources for creative excellence; motivation for awareness and respect for diversity; and improve the quality of through cultural understanding within the community.
