NOCCA @ New Orleans Fashion Week
Amaya Cannon-Brightman, 11th Grade Warren Easton | NOCCA Theatre Design; Freddie Brimmer, 11th Grade NOCCA Academic Studio | NOCCA Theatre Design
As the annual New Orleans Fashion Week approaches, NOCCA Theatre Design students are excited to take part. The Theatre Design Department, which provides hands-on training in theatrical lighting, sound and costuming, will be well represented with students presenting their designs at runway shows and creating work that will be part of an historic celebration of New Orleans fashion over the centuries.
Eleventh grade New Orleans student, Amaya Cannon-Brightman, Warren Easton/NOCCA Theatre Design, is finalizing the last details of her urban-contemporary line of fashion for the much-anticipated Top Design Competition, which takes place on March 22. Her work includes color-blocking and shapes with the young adult buyer in mind.
Amaya also is working with Freddie Brimmer, NOCCA Academic Studio/NOCCA Theatre Design, to create an avant-garde look that represents the ‘future of fashion’ as part of a homage to 300 years of New Orleans Fashion, including trends, icons and fashion moments, that will be presented at the Jazz Market on March 20.
