Matthew Wood is a classical pianist, currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at LSU. He previously received the Master of Music degree from the University of New Orleans, and the Bachelor of Music degree from the University of West Florida. He has performed in more than 80 venues in 17 states. Recent performances include a solo recital at the 2014 World Piano Conference in Novi Sad, Serbia; Mozart’s piano concerto #23 with the New Orleans Civic Symphony in 2017; and the Schumann piano concerto with the New Orleans Volunteer Orchestra in 2014. Mr. Wood has been a member of the vocal music faculty at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) since 2013, where he collaborates as vocal accompanist, choral director, and opera conductor, and teaches music theory, musicianship, music history, and class piano.
