Piano Masterclass With NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov
Piano Masterclass With NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov
Thursday-December 12, 5-6:45 PM | Reily Recital Hall
Open to 6-12th grade students and their parents/RSVP Required
The NOCCA Classical Music Division invites piano students to take part in an active, instructional masterclass with Piano Faculty member Dr. Hristo Birbochukov.
Students who RSVP for this free masterclass should prepare one classical piano piece by memory for Dr. Birbochukov to consider for the event. The pieces he will select should be original (not transcribed works) from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Contemporary periods. Examples of the easiest preferred pieces include any selection taken from Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach or any sonatina movement, while more advanced students are encouraged to select a Two-Part Invention, a movement of a French or English suite, Prelude and Fugue from WTC, a movement of a Classical Sonata, or a representative work from Romantic or Contemporary composer. Students must bring their own sheet music to the class. Dr. Birbochukov will select the pieces to be performed from those who RSVP by December 6.
This is open to 6-12th grade students and is free of charge. Parents and teachers are also encouraged to attend.
Following the masterclass, participants are also invited to a free piano concert by NOCCA Classical Music students at 7 PM at Black Box Theatre
