Student Artist Travels to Washington for Unveiling on Capitol Hill
Congressman Cedric Richmond (LA-02) joined Anna Koeferl, the winner of the Second Congressional District Art Competition, for the unveiling of her award winning painting. Ms. Koeferl’s painting, “Mountain Portrait,” was unveiled at the annual Congressional Art Competition reception in Washington, DC and will be displayed in the Capitol Building for one year.
“Each year, the Congressional Arts Competition gives us an opportunity to officially recognize the artistic talents of our youth,” said Congressman Richmond. “Much of what makes the city of New Orleans so unique is historically tied to the creative talent of its residents, so it seems only fitting to honor Anna and all of the talented young men and women who submitted their work for consideration this year. We have a responsibility to preserve, support, and celebrate our arts community.”
Ms. Koeferl and her family were flown to Washington, D.C. for the unveiling ceremony.
