NOCCA is proud to share the news that one of its Academic and Visual Arts students, Reed Parker, has been selected for the Art.Write.Now.Tour, the national traveling exhibition of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, for his original work, Vegas Heart. (pictured above)
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are an important opportunity for students to be recognized for their creative talents. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.
Curated, produced, and presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the tour showcases a selection of works from the 2015 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards –inspiring and innovative work by teens from all across the country. Now in its seventh year, the Tour is celebrated for having a fresh and relevant look at the creative work of today’s young artists.
Reed’s artwork, 60 additional works by National Medalists, and The Best Teen Writing of 2016 will be featured at the following locations:
GRAND RAPIDS, MI Kendall College of Art & Design September 20–October 14, 2016
HOUSTON, TX Museum of Fine Arts November 1, 2016–January 2, 2017
