NOCCA Student Earns National Gold Congressional Award
Highest Honor Focuses on Public Service, Personal Development, Physical Fitness & Expedition/Exploration
NOCCA is honored and proud to share that NOCCA full-day Academic Studio student studying Media Arts at the prestigious arts conservatory has earned the Gold Congressional Award.
The Gold Congressional award is the highest honor Congress awards to youth. It is a four-fold program of volunteer public service, personal development, physical fitness, and expedition/exploration. The intention of the Congressional award is to recognize initiative, service, and achievement in America’s youth.
NOCCA senior and resident of Robert, LA, Conner Fox, learned about the program through his participation with the National Leadership Council connected with his church. He began working toward his goals the summer of 2019 before his freshman year of high school. In order to achieve the Gold Award he needed to complete four hundred hours of volunteer public service. Conner’s activities included maintaining hiking trails and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
