Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Selects NOCCA Students As National Winners
National Gold Medal, Silver Medal and prestigious American Visions Medal In Both Creative Writing & Visual Arts
NOCCA is proud to share the news that students in the Creative Writing and Visual Arts Departments were recognized on the national level in the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are an important opportunity for students to be recognized for their creative talents. Teens in grades 7 through 12 can apply in 28 categories of art and writing for the chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited or published. Panelists look for works that best exemplify originality, technical skill and the emergence of a personal voice or vision.
NOCCA received five in Creative Writing and three in Visual Arts. This includes a Gold Medal Writing Portfolio recipient and an American Visions Medal. There are only eight Gold Medal Portfolios in Writing in the country ($10,000 cash award) and one artist from each region receiving The American Visions Medal. All national winners are invited to the national Alliance for Young Artists & Writers events in June, including the Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall.
