WHAT: CCC has returned with the creation of the evening length production, Taken, inspired by the historical epidemic of the absentee father in African American families and communities. This work, which premiered in the 2008 Fringe Festival as a 20-minute excerpt, has been re- created by Kesha McKey, Artistic Director of CCC, as partial fulfillment of UWM MFA requirements. Using dance, theatre, film, spoken word and song, Taken will exhibit a historical journey depicting significant events that have affected the African American family such as slavery, war, street violence and incarceration.

WHO: Artists performing in this production include: Sule-Joel Adams, Rontrevius Foreman, Polanco Jones Jr., Donovan Davis, Julian Anderson, Adrian Lindsey, Torrence Taylor, Michael Moore, Frederick Delahoussaye, Jarrell Hamilton, Catherine Caldwell, Shellisa Moore, Giselle Nakhid and Kateri McBride.
