Al Carter is a New Orleans native New Orleanian and product of the Orleans Parish Schools. He graduated from John F. Kennedy Sr High school, Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond with a major in Mass Communications and lastly a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux.
He has eleven years of teaching experience including teaching with the Lafourche Parish School Board, the St John the Baptist School Board and most recently the Terrebonne Parish School District. He is certified and highly qualified in both Middle and High School subject areas.
He has a diverse background including working at a Police Officer and Police Administrator. He was Director of Campus Police at Delgado Community College and Nicholls State University as well as a Captain with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s office assigned as the Administrator/Warden of the Lafourche Parish Work Release Center.
Mr. Carter had been married for thirty-four years and has two children, ages 18 and 30. He currently resides in Thibodaux.
