Biography

Mr. Marty Authier (Integrated Humanities) moved to New Orleans in 2001 to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from Tulane University (2005). He spent eight years at Southern Methodist University in Dallas completing a Masters Degree in Anthropology (2007), conducting archaeological research into early formative cultures in coastal Peru, teaching Honors anthropology seminars, and mentoring students in a residence hall. He was thrilled to return to New Orleans in 2013 when he joined the Academic Studio faculty, and it has been an honor for him to explore deep history and its modern relevance with his students. After dabbling in various performing arts in his youth, he has a deep appreciation for the creative arts that surround him at NOCCA.
