Three Students Attending NOCCA Receive Posse Scholarship | Full Support To College

NOCCA is proud to announce that three students were accepted into The Posse Foundation Program: Academic Studio and Visual Arts student Graca Yaasir, Academic Studio and Culinary Arts student Quentin Jackson and De la Salle High School and Drama student Fernando Rivera.

The Posse Foundation awards students four-year, full-tuition scholarships to partner colleges such as Bard University, Case Western Reserve University, Illinois Wesleyan University, University of Notre Dame and Tulane University. Students selected for this award are nominated by their high school college counselors, then are evaluated through an interview process. Students must exemplify high academic achievement and leadership capabilities.

In the Fall of 2017, Graca Yaasir will attend Tulane University majoring in public relations and minoring in urban studies. Fernando Rivera will attend Case Western Reserve University majoring in Acting and Political Science and Quentin Jackson will attend Illinois Wesleyan University majoring in Business Management or International Business.

About Posse

The Posse model works for both students and college campuses and is rooted in the belief that a small diverse group of talented students- a Pose- carefully selected and trained, can serve as a catalyst for increased individual and community development. Posse believes that the leaders of this new century should reflect the country’s rich demographic mix. One of the primary aims of the Posse Program is to train the leaders of tomorrow.
