The Power of NOCCA | Parent Spotlight
During a quarterly parent dialogue session with NOCCA’s President | CEO Kyle Wedberg, NOCCA families were asked to share a few words about their experience at the arts high school.
Here is a parent spotlight:
Geraldine Lewis | Parent of Kelsie Lewis, 9th Grade Academic Studio | Culinary Arts from New Orleans.
After studying at Arthur Ashe Charter School, I am happy to share that my daughter remains on track and is focused. Someone is always there at NOCCA, ready to help her, or even me, along.
One of my favorite memories is when I received a text from my daughter early this fall. It was a group picture of her with idol Emeril Lagasse at an event she was helping with for NOCCA. I saw something had changed in her.
She was smiling ear to ear and was so happy. The opportunity has help motivate her to focus even more on her academic and culinary studies.
I also noticed that she was enjoying the school socially and felt comfortable with her new friends. That is all a parent ever wants.
She has confidence and that makes us so happy for her.
