Music Students Recognized In LPO Young Artist Competition


NOCCA is proud to share the news that Classical Instrumental students, under the direction of Classical Instrumental Department Chair Dr. Jee-Yeoun Ko, received high recognition in the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Young Artists’ Concerto Competition.

Winners and runners-up include:

9-12th Grade Winners               Ben Mader, Rachmanioff Piano Concert No. 2 (Piano, Instructor NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov, 11th Grade-Homeschool, Metairie-70001)

9-12th Grade Runner-Up           Grace Collins, Bruch Violin Concerto No.1 in G minor (Violin, Instructor NOCCA Faculty Ms. Zorica Dimova, 11th Grade-NOCCA Academic Studio, Destrehan-70047)

K-8th Grade Runner-Up            Haley Daniel, Haydn Piano Concerto No. 11 (Piano, Instructor NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov, 7th Grade-Homeschool, Mandeville-70448)

As winning recognized student, Ben Mader will perform in a concert with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra early this spring.
