Dr. Rinna Saun (’82) will be premiering a new piano concerto she commissioned from classmate Henry Flurry (’82) on Sunday, April 24, 2016, 7:00 PM at Christ United Methodist Church, Plano, TX.
The concerto, entitled Currents, is inspired by New Orleans’ complex relationship with water. This winter Henry is finishing his Master’s in Composition at the University of Birmingham, UK. He is an active composer, teaches private piano and composition lessons, and performs with his wife Maria Vomlehn Flurry in the duo Sticks and Tones.
Rinna continues to combine performance and teaching, as well as an ongoing project of recording the complete Chopin Nocturnes.
