Musical Theatre Student Featured In Nickelodeon Video
Audition Leads To Three Day Work Call In New York
Since age 10, current New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Musical Theatre student Nicholas Dayton has been focused on his craft. He has been represented by New York Abrams Artist Agency and has gone on many auditions here in our region and in New York City.
As Nicholas says, “You never know what doors will open from any experience. Even if you do not get the part, the people you met at an audition may keep you in mind for something else down the road.”
That is what exactly happened to this Slidell native and young professional talent, as Nickelodeon remembered Nicholas from an audition and called him to New York to take part in a small project. The one day planned shoot expanded to a three day web content recording, voice-over work and video location shoot in and around New York and at the world famous Premier Studios.
“I had an incredible time and really felt at home in the studios,” stated Nicholas. “My training at NOCCA sure came in handy. I felt prepared for anything that they threw my way and was able to keep my energy level up for the long days of shooting and studying.”
While at the studio, Nicholas struck up a conversation with the owner of the studio, Glen Swann. They both soon realized that they both attend(ed) NOCCA. Glen shared some photos on his phone of the original NOCCA and they compared notes about NOCCA then and now.
