Academic Studio Honored By College Board
Computer Science Female Diversity Award
NOCCA is proud to announce that the school was honored by College Board AP with the Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to AP Computer Science Principles for the 2019-2020 school year. NOCCA is one of 818 schools to be recognized for achieving this important result in AP Computer Science Principles.
“We are very proud of the hard work of the students who took on the challenge of Computer Sciences.,” shared Dr. Kit Nelson Director of NOCCA’s Academic Studio. “We continue to support our students in pushing the boundaries in all fields”
Serving as the first academic AP class at NOCCA, the computer science class was a full-year introductory college-level computing course that introduced students into the field of computer science through hands-on, project-based, collaborative learning, according to the College Board.
