Classical Instrumental Recognized in LSU Bach Contest
NOCCA Classical Instrumental Students Recognized in LSU Bach Contest 2013
NOCCA Classical Instrumental Piano students received top awards in the recent 37thLouisiana State University School of Music Performing Arts Academy Bach Contest 2013. The two NOCCA students that participated were recognized among more than 160 pre-collegiate piano contestants.
Ben Mader (Instructor NOCCA Faculty Dr. Hristo Birbochukov, 8th Grade-Ridgewood Preparatory, Metairie-70001) was among the top winners, “Recitalist,” in both Bach Level C category and Sonatina Level D and was selected to perform in the final recital that followed the award ceremony.
Victoria Seaward (Instructor-same, 9th Grade-St. Mary’s Dominican High, Metairie-70001) placed among the top winners, “Recitalist,” in Bach Level D category, and performed in the award recital, as well.
Ben was also one of the top winners in the last week’s Junior Philharmonic Society of New Orleans Auditions, and will be invited to perform at one of the recitals organized by the Jr. Philharmonic Society in 2014 at Dixon Hall, Tulane University.
