NOCCA Music Student Recognized In LPO Young Artist Competition
Louisiana’s arts conservatory NOCCA is proud to share the news that current Classical Instrumental student Sebastien Barrau (piano) was recognized in the annual LPO Young Artists’ Concerto Competition as this year’s winner in the high school division.

As the winning recognized student, Sebastien will perform Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto as a soloist with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in February 2023.
“Sebastien is an exemplary young person showing how perseverance and hard work can lead to success,” shared Dr. Birbochukov. “After many years of trying and preparing for his artistic goals, he has achieved this high honor with the LPO. He also maintains a stellar GPA at Ben Franklin High School and has received the prestigious 36 score on his ACT. Riding the bus to NOCCA every single day, he is doing amazing work with us here at NOCCA serving as important role model for other students.”
