Full-Day School Academic Studio Opportunity for Current 8th Graders
Middle and high school students and their families are encouraged to visit New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA, 2800 Chartres Street, New Orleans-70117) as the Center opens its doors to the community on Saturday, October 3, 10 AM-NOON with an Open Studio Day. This is a great first step for students to learn details about NOCCA and attendance options. No RSVP is required.
At Open Studio Day, families can see first-hand our studios and classrooms. Guests can talk directly with NOCCA faculty and students to learn about NOCCA’s audition process and what it’s like to be a NOCCA student. An Online Application Resource area will also be available with demonstrations.
At this special event, several activities are planned that the public will certainly enjoy:
- Musical Theatre Performance & Presentation Preview of the Upcoming Show Flora The Red Menace: See live performance and insight of the technical and costume elements of the production.
- Working Rehearsal by the Vocal Music Department of Opera Scenes
- Student Presentations of Recent Work Created By Visual Arts Students
- Sample Visual Arts Audition Portfolio Presentation & Review
- Classical Instrumental & Jazz Music Performances In Courtyards & Forum
