Biography

Leslie Castay (she/her) holds an MFA from Tulane University. She is a veteran of Broadway, Television, Film and Cabaret stages.  A multiple Big Easy Award winner, she returned to New Orleans after a 20 plus year career as a New York City based actress. Her Broadway credits include Beauty and the Beast, Guys and Dolls, 3Penny Opera (starring Sting), 42nd St, and numerous Off-Broadway, and National Touring productions. She has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, the New Orleans Symphony and New Orleans Opera. Some of her directing credits include Holiday Inn (Big Easy Award winner for Best Musical and Best Director), The Addams Family, Little Women, This Property is Condemned, Rocky Horror Show and Guys and Dolls for NOCCA. She directed and co-created Southern Rep’s original holiday jukebox musical, Mandatory Merriment which ran for three seasons. Film and TV credits include The Big Short, Green Book, NCIS:New Orleans, Beautiful Creatures, Secrets of Sulphur Springs, Hulu Network’s Mike and as “Alicia Mayfair” on AMC’s Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches. She is passionate about teaching the next generation of performing artists and is thrilled to be at NOCCA!
