Biography

Originally from Baton Rouge, Dana Wallace is a proud resident of New Orleans. She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans (2017), where she specialized in child and family counseling. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies (2014) from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Currently, Dana is a doctoral candidate at the University of New Orleans studying Counselor Education and Supervision (2024). She holds credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Louisiana. Dana Wallace has 6+ years of experience providing individual, group, and family counseling to children and adolescents for a range of issues: Dual diagnoses, familial related issues, trauma, and academic concerns. Prior to joining the NOCCA family, Dana previously worked at Xavier University of Louisiana and the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Pre-trial Juvenile Diversion Program assisting youth to avoid adjudication through receiving mental health services. Her research interests include parent-child attachment and relationship perceptions; family systems; youth behavioral interventions; Africentric theoretical orientations; and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within K-12 education.
